Window on the Wetlands Centre, Warren

The Window on the Wetlands (WOW) Centre is an education, recreation and cultural centre situated in Warren. It adjoins the Tiger Bay Wetlands which walking trails along which there are three bird hides and interpretive signage.

The Centre itself offers close to 60 outdoor interpretive boards about wildlife of the region, the Macquarie River and Marshes and history.

Indigenous and early European cultural heritage are also featured on the interpretive boards at the Centre.

The Centre is operated by the not-for-profit organisation RiverSmart Australia and we can provide a range of wetland and river-related education packages, including our outdoor classroom. Cost is negotiated depending on the group size and duration of class. In general cost is $12-15/person/hour for interactive class activities.

The Kookaburra Cafe and Wine Bar is on the same site and offers great coffee, cakes, light meals, art exhibitions, stunning lead light windows and local Indigenous art to enjoy view while you relax in air-conditioned comfort.
