Bird Watching
Make sure to pack the binoculars and dust off your bird ID guide – our glove box guide will help too – before heading our way.
We can boast 300 bird species across our ‘patch’ starting at the Arboretum and Botanic Gardens at Lake Burrendong, all the way to the majestic Macquarie Marshes, a waterbird mecca.
There are also lots of the harder to find species – mallefowl for example, plus Grey-crowned babblers, Hooded robins, Painted snipe, Regent Honeyeaters, Brolgas and on it goes.
The central west is popular with the serious bird watchers as well as novices learning the trade.
