Cycling is a rapidly growing pastime in this region; the further downstream you the flatter the country gets! Around Wellington and Dubbo there are several highly regarded mountain bike venues, plus BMX tracks. For the road bike enthusiasts, an increasingly popular route is the ‘backway’ from Dubbo to Warren, a road that loosely follows the river. This river ride is about 100 kilometres and almost dead flat plus there are lots of places to stop and take in the stunning river scenery.
