Welcome to your Virtual Tour Guide for Macquarie River Trails.
Here you will find just a few of the nearly 100 attractions, events and points of interest within the valley of the Macquarie River in the heart of NSW – a stone’s throw from Sydney, the central coast and the Canberra region.
The five trails themes provide options ranging for water sports, nature-based drawcards, local produce, cultural heritage and cycling.
The Macquarie River Trails are nestled between – and link – established touring routes focussed around the Warrumbungles, Mudgee wines, Lightning Ridge, the Darling River Run, the Cobb & Co Trail and the Animals on Bikes trail.
It plugs a geographic gap and adds new and exciting opportunities to build on the region’s most popular established tourism product, Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
