Directions:

Travelling between Dubbo and Wellington on the Mitchell Highway turn into Mitchell Street and follow this road toward Ponto. You’ll find the reserve just on the Geurie side of the bridge over the Macquarie River (see photo).

Access:

Good. Sealed road all the way from Geurie.

Boat launching:

Very difficult. This reserve is not recommended if you intend to use a boat.

Access along the banks:

Difficult.

Other information:

This part of the river is generally narrow with shallow riffle ‘runs’ and deep holes along the steep banks and corners.
